Ever since BlackVelvetBand posed the Shunsui/Nanao challenge over at ff.net, I've been thinking that this community needs to have a challenge. And not one of those lame-o challenges that everyone says "sure, I'll enter" and then never does, but an ACTUAL challenge that people actually enter. Surely this will be good, Y/N?
In order to gague people's opinions, I propose we have a poll (because making polls is fun!). If the "yes" (or equivelant) option gets enough votes, I will pose a challenge and hopefully it will be good and it will WIN.
Okay, so THE FREAKING POLL WILL NOT WORK DESPITE MY RE-DOING IT SEVEN STUPID TIMES AND I AM SICK OF IT AND LJ HATES ME SO...
Welcome to my very own home-grown poll. To vote, simply put the numbers that you choose in your comments and I will count them with my 1337 manual counting skills because fortunately school at least taught me basic arithmetic.
The question: So, do we do this challenge?
1. Yes, challenges rock and this community can totally make it work
2. Um, a challenge would be nice, but I don't think that there are enough (active) members of this community to make it work
3. No, challenges are lame
4. No, because this is an unoriginal idea that you stole form BlackVelvetBand over at ff.net
5. What's a challenge?
6. Tickybox!
7. Can Kubo please write the 8th division back into the manga?
8. I want to see them kiss nao!
9. This "poll" has too many options, I R confused
Thankyou for taking part in my poll, the votes will be counted as they come in :D
Also, since its what inspired this idea, here are the links to the winners of ff.net's Shunsui/Nanao challenge. They are all seriously awesome (especially "duet" which had me in tears halfway through) so show the writers your appreciation by leaving a review once you've read them.
The Pink Haori (Best Overall Story)- Winning the War by Dreaming One
The Rose Petal (Best Dramatic Piece)- Don’t Make Me by Kenta Divina
Flashing Glasses (Best Plot Twist)- Duet by Ilea Dreike
Sake Bottle (Most Creative Plotline)- It’s Not You by IluvsBakura
Honorable Mention - Sway by Philyra (This awesome story was runner-up by one vote for the Pink Haori Award. Read it and love it anyway.)

Date: 2007-10-06 06:04 pm (UTC)Plz, 7! - I miss all of soul society, especially 8th division and also Rukia... T_T
Of course, all my fics are centered around 8 so... yeah, I think I'm not very original. ^_^
Anywho, I have a similar dilemma to what myalchod said in that I tend to struggle getting the prompt to fit something in my head since my muse is quite fickle - but I'm all for seeing the options and trying to make one work!

From:My vote 1,7, & 8 :)
Date: 2007-10-08 07:28 am (UTC)But, if I'm inspired by the challenge, I will probably attempt to write one... although... I'm afraid if I"m too slow... then you won't see the fic till way, way after the challenge was completed.
