Title: Like a Story
Author: Mrpiddleslives
Summary: Nanao reads a good book and Shunsui reads a good Nanao
Pairing: Nanao/Shunsui
Genres: Romance/Humor
Rating: G
Nanao Ise looked up as she thought she felt a familiar presence dance on the edge of her perception. The presence exuded laziness, flirtyness, and pink. How a rietsu gave off pink was a mystery to her, but somehow id did - sometimes she swore she could smell pink. Or perhaps she was combining the deliciously masculine smell of Kyouraku Taicho with pink, but that part of her brain even suggesting such a thing, with such strong description no less!, was immediately smacked down by her rational part. She did not notice how Kyouraku Taicho smelled.
But it was a moot point because as suddenly as she felt his presence, he was gone; or perhaps he wasn’t there at all. Either way there wasn’t any use in continuing that particular train of thought.
Turning back to her book Nanao let herself sink into the story and let everything else go. The main character was so sweet, he stayed behind his love as she went galvanizing across the world, a warrior princess; always watching but never bothering. Nanao felt her heart constrict for him. He gave up most of his life to protect her from afar - twice the princess had gotten hurt, and under a layer of masks and armor he saved her, but she never noticed him for who he was.
Sighing Nanao sympathized with the heart-sick man. She knew what it felt like to not have love returned, to have it mocked by having the word “love” thrown around frivolously and trivially. But he handled it so well, he never pushed her, took what he could get and was always there for her; even when she didn’t know.
Nanao wondered how the book would end, would he eventually catch up from a life of following behind? Would he declare his love? Would she return it?
Shunsui wondered much of the same thing. If he declared it, would she return it? Everyday he followed her, much like the poor man of the novel, and he simply watched her, reveled in her the way he could not do while she noticed. He was much better at cloaking his rietsu then she would ever realize. But he did make one boo-boo when he saw her shift against the sakura tree, making the material of her yakuta taunt against her feminine flesh. He forgot himself for a moment and accidentally let his rietsu flair. Shunsui let out a pout, masking his rietsu was a lot of work, and he didn’t particularly like doing it. Perhaps just once he could face his darling Nanao-chan head one when observing her, when worshipping her. But no, he sighed, she would most likely hit him then scold him or a combination of both.
So for now he continued to watch.

The idea of his reiatsu giving off flirtiness and pink is extremely amusing to me. I coudln't stop giggling.
